Busy as a Bee

Well i've been busy as a bee waiting for my indian summer.

Getting all my work done and no sign of the sun.

with exam time looming were getting back to grinds season, I've been rather busy.
However i did take part in scott's craft fair in nenagh. I met thelonelyteacup, a lovely lady making items like mine, Other than meeting some nice traders the day was a disaster

I was in the workshop today and i have put together some small cake stands more suitable to biscuits and buns than afternoon tea. They will be cheap and cheerfull and in plenty of time for christmas presents.

Previews should be up in the next few days.

Nap time

Nap time for the baby was very productive for me today
I have a set of handbag charms made.

Something new

This has been a longwhile coming,
I started properly by cleaning my workspace and that took a week.
So here are some new delightful cake stands that i have added to my collection.

Leo's are rampant in our family.

Shaving mugs are made and ready to be photo'd
10 new stands are ready to be drilled and photo'd

My challenge today is to make roses from modelling chocolate to make some birthday cakes look extra fancy.

Lastnight i had a great meditation and done some spinal breathing so today my head is a bit woozy......

I could just curl up in the bed with my wee man either.

Its my birthday tomorrow and the hubbie has a new camera for me. Here's to endings and beginnings.

Jam Making

the past few days have been consumed with making "cherry plum" jam.
I picked the fruit thinking it was cherries only to discover cherry piting tools are impossible to get in ireland.
The i realized the fruit wasnt cherries. DISASTER.

I found a gread recipe for californian cherry plum jam and its working great for me.

Something New inspired by simplicity

I was asked to come up with something simple but that isnt so easy in my colourful life.
Ok so i have one simple one i think.

Holidays here i come

Today marks the countdown to the holidays.

I listed some new cake stands on etsy and edited my photo's the best ever.

Tonight i'm making some new teacup candles for the country market in arklow.

Boskivice here i come........... well thats not until thursday.

Hope to get some pics uploaded of my teacup candles, tomorrow.

Fresh Monday

After a busy weekend myself and my wee man spent some quality time in the pool this morning , then it was back to the grind this evening. Grandad as ever was most helpfull so i got a good bit done. I have two finished products with preview pictures. It was too dark to get the proper photo's taken. They will go live tomorrow night on my etsy shop.

Laragh market was wonderfull yesterday. we had a lovely neighbour called lizzy and another neighbour with mats 3 for 1 euro. All in all it was a sleepy sunny day spent under the canvas.

Team Treasury Challenge

Officially i won the team treasury challenge, thanks for everybody who voted for me.
and all my friends on facebook.

Wow i am overwhelmed.

Well today i went and bought 20 donuts to photo on a cake stand for a lady who would like to see what donuts would look like.Needless to say my dietician wont be happy with my colossal weight gain this month... any excuse to buy donuts.

 Purls from etsy was sending me convo's and i really feel like part of the team. Thanks for including me

Glendalough Market.

I went two weeks in a row and i've been very disappointed with the turn out.
I willl give it one more try before i give up.

Oh today will be dedicated to getting new cake stands made and listed.
The photographing is the difficult part but i am excited because i am getting better at it.


I will have some new photo's tonight or tomorrow.

Preview of new Stock

 Here is a preview of my new cake stands.
I am only sending this out to a few people, i hope you like some of what you see.
The stands have not been finished but i am trying to keep people happy and create what people want before i do new items for the shop.

Arklow Pottery piece. The bottom plate is arklow pottery and even though the top plate is a close match it is not by the same manufacturer.

Pink Roses - Both plates have pink roses, the top plate's image is very vibrant with a lovely gold edge. 

Top plate is carrigaline and i cannot date it. 

The bottom plate, date's to the 1930's from what i can read online regarding the marks on the back

Another Arklow pottery theme
This stand has an arklow pottery bottom plate, its arklow so its definitly vintage
the middle plate is modern and i cannot date the top plate

Summer buds - Bottom plate is colclough and vintage, i cannot date the other two.

Carrigaline - Three carrigaline plates in small, medium and large ( photo isnt great sorry  )

Mini rose buds on green with gold and white 

top plate is green under the gold with rose buds

The buds on the middle plate are very bright 

Pattern on the bottom is amazing and very clear

I needed something plain to go with the top plate, as everything else just takes away from it.

Today i have the blues,i am trying to get crafting and failing gracefully
I was planning on finishing my lamp this evening but an evening of reading and relaxing might just happen instead.
I will be the laragh craft fair on sunday so its all go go go here to get prepared.
My shop will be off line for sunday so i dont double sell anything.

Lamp Preview

I’ve been relaxing and crafting this week in tipperary.
I have my new lamp finished. I havn't got the photographs taken yet with the correct shade but I’m very happy with it.
The new shade is cream with lots of frills and gold.
I’m loving it, I really am wondering what i will have to do to follow it up.
Its made from a vintage 1976 miniature tea set on a wonderful green saucer.
